Jaime MORALES-MATOS

Associate Professor of Trombone & Euphonium Miami of Ohio University

Jaime Morales-Matos is an active soloist, teacher, lecturer, recitalist, chamber music performer and clinician in North America, Europe, and Latin America. Currently a faculty member at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where he teaches alto, tenor and bass trombone to undergraduate and graduate students. As an orchestral player Mr. Morales-Matos have performed with the Cincinnati Symphony and Pops Orchestra, Columbus Symphony, Dayton Philharmonic, Lexington Philharmonic, the Casals Festival Orchestra, the Florida Music Festival Orchestra, and the New World Symphony in the United States, and with the Asturias, Granada and Galicia Symphony Orchestras in Spain. As a soloist he has performed many solo recitals and appeared as soloist with several orchestras, including the Puerto Rico Symphony, Bangor Symphony, Symphony Orchestra of Southeast Texas, Guayaquil Symphony, Central Ohio Symphony, National Symphony of the Dominican Republic and Clermont Philharmonic. Morales have extensive chamber music experience, performing with the Gabrieli Brass Quintet, Top Brass, Upbeat Brass and concerts with members of the brass section of the New York Philharmonic and Cleveland Orchestra. He has premiered various concertos and other works written especially for him. He is very active as a Master class Artist in the United States and Latin America. His principal trombone teachers have included Antonio Salcedo, Keith Brown, Tony Chipurn and M. Dee Stewart. He has also studied privately with Joseph Alessi, Arnold Jacobs and John Swallow.Jaime Morales–Matos is an Antoine Courtois Artist, performing on a Legend AC440 Trombone.Virtuosi di Cincinnati is a Chamber orchestra made of members of the Cincinnati Symphony, Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra and free-lance string players.
